I am a big fan of the films and yet have never ever read the books. Was in Oxfam other day and they were both 50p each so decided it was time i should read them. Having seen the films i knew the general story line but as always as i got into the book i prefered the book more. The character of Mark Darcy is much more sexy in the book (not that colin firth isnt) but the film version definatly skipped a few of his more notably qualities as with Daniel Cleaver. The story was funny and scarily seemingly familiar with oneself, especially the whole fag/booze/weight documenting. There is quite a lot of context from the book missing from the film which again is uaully why i prefer reading books to wthcing the film but still thoroughly enjoyed it.

The edge of reason was just as good, Shazzer is possibly my favourite character with her overuse of the word fuck, constant smoking and general feminist qualities and thinking men are shit- she reminded me of what im going to be like in 10 years. I loved the parts of the book that were not featured in the film as it made the read less predictable.

I pretty much always read atleast a book a week but im documenting this time round.. So to start the year off my number 50 was

Marian Keyes- Anybody out there?

Iv owned this book for about six months now, i bought it on one of my charity shop book raids and it was the first Keyes novel i had read. I was instantly absorbed by the dark humour and wittyness of the novel.It was once of those novels that made me both laugh at loud and cry.
The story tells the tale of Irish Anna who has been badly injured in an accident (you dont find out why until later in the novel so i wont spoil) despite this she is desperate to get back to her life and husband Aiden in New York. The story was funny and tragic at the same time, i guessed the mini twist within the first few chapters but aside from this i would well recommend it. And i will definatly be reading more from Keyes.

Went out last night and got really pissed and now i feel terrible. I should not drink wine all night again, i know this as it makes me sick. I passed out as soon as i got in. Im working on a presentation onOscar wilde today and then having an early night and some nice food. Pops in away next week thankfully so i get a bit of peace and quiet. I start work on Monday im really rather nervous about what to wear and how to do my hair etc. I need to find a colour thats both suitable for school and not boring like black. Im thinking about being red/ginger again. Maybe this time a more auburn then orange. Need to let this hideous black fade out first. Getting it re-dreaded over the summer just to let it grow somemore.

MA starts in october i think i have decided on my moduals. Definatly doing the teaching one and the fiction writing one, im staying away from anything too academtic and concentrating on my writing itself.

I found my passport yay!!

Today has been awfully tiring, i had the baby from 8am and had to take him to get weighed and then spent the morning playing with him and he was very good and lovely. This afternoon i was working on the year ten lecture series at Uni and doing all boring admin work. Was suppose to be going swimming with ken tonight but i just want to go to sleep.

I got parcels in the post today but not being in means i dont get them till tomorrow, Im all excitied to see what they are as well

Today has been too hot..I did all the displays in my classroom and in the oppoiste classroom whilst the kids watched films all day..classroom looks awesome now though took some photos on my digi cam so will post them tomorrow..coming in over the holidays to work on the castle display which is goign to be mint..

Been off work tonight thank god..it was lovely just to laze around in my room and dye my hair..put some green back in it so its half pink and bit green lol..needs re-doing properly which bleach but havnt had the time or money..

2 days left before summer holidays cant fuckign wait..3 weeks till holiday and 1 day till payday..Oh joy is me xxx

Im feeling ever so apathetic recently..I cannot beleive my sleep in day has been ruined as im currently sat here having already been in the bath, hair washed and half dressed. I have some work to do so its probably a good thing im up early and then when its all done i can go back to sleep.
Im getting my hair done in a few hours, im soo excited, i hope it looks good as!!
Im half happy/nervous about uni tommorrow, its my last day and therefore in more aspects then one very sad but in the other hand totally excited!

Its my birthday in 3 weeks..have no idea what im doing but iv hardly spoken to anyone so im not really surpised lol!!

Im beginning to get really annoyed with topshop..They delivered the top to me yeterday but i supposedly wasnt in at 12.34, which is odd cos i didnt leave the house yesterday till 3.30pm for work so thats a big fat lie, they have now said they went to my neighbours and they signed for it..which in my opinion is fuckign stupid as my neighbours i hardly know them, so i rang next door and they said they havnt got it which may not be true as the man is a bit loopy so i need to go try all 3 flats next door and then next door but one and if they dont have it then im goign to cry and shout at someone.

Hmm so thats over and done with but yes work is coming along slowly, i ordered sopme exciting some excited things on tinternet this morning..a some girls splatter tshirt for dom, some black and pink big polka dot tights..an i heart diy yellow tshirt and some bright yellow tights yes Yellow Tights are my new fave thing and mine have laddered :(.

I cant decide whether to wear pink tutu tonight or green polka det dress thing or my pink and green flower dress..arg i hate makign decisions..

I have soooo much work to do im actually very worried and scared..its my own fault i should of done it weeks ago instead of starting it this week when it has to be in friday..doesnt stop me from going out all the time though..Not going to do any heavy drinking tonight as i have uni at 9am which i will possibly not even make it in for har!!
There was no coffee in :( so im having tea which i cant drink unless it has sugar in and im trying to cut down on eating shit food although 4 nights in a row boozing doesnt really help..Im not going out after tonight for a while..need to save my money do some xmas shopping and start doing my work.

Iv been invited to a pink halloween party in aid of cancer and i have the best idea for a costume but i need some things so if anyone can help that would be awesome..
Firstly a pink corset- any shade- think breast uplifting
Some plasctic fetish stupid high shoes in pink im watching some on ebay but they dont finish until wednesday and may not be here in time.
My biggest want is fake clip in hair or where i can get it relitivly cheap i want a mass of black and pink hair all back combed and wild

Im aching all over..i went on a school trip with my sister and her class yesterday to saltburn looking for habitats, we walked from one end of slatburn beach to the part with all the rock pools and looked for crabs and star fish and mini fish, the kids were so lovely they were kept bringing me over everythign they found such as crap legs and other such things..we then walked from the bottom to the top of valley gardens as well as playing games and by the end of the day i was worn out..i think im too soft with kids as i was carrying all their lunch boxes, coats and bags of stuff they had collected on the beach and today im achey..
Last night me and dom had another stupid argument we never fight normally but since iv switched my pill its making me so emotional and ratty we then laughed about me being dramatic and went to ikea and bought my wardrope its mint!
Im looking forward to tonight now i think although dom is no longer coming as he has lots of uni work and is very tired so im all on my lonesome so i hope some of you guys will be there :)

Im really kinda scared about wednesday..i'm not too sure if i know how to work decks properly and what if i mess it up and something bad happens and then i'll feel like a spazz..dom is coming with me though which is really sweet as i know its not something he would enjoy but for moral support and that!
We've had a total average weekend just finishing my room off, friday we went to ikea which was amazing but the thing i wanted we coiuldnt get in dom's little nova so instead we're tomorrow night to get my wardrope and then im going to finally get my room sorted with clothes put away instead of being in suitcases as they are at the moment!
